Sponge Jumps Out Of His Pants With Another Big Win

The April tournament went off without a hitch!  For all of you who attended the Little Hill Casino’s “April Extravaganza”, you know it was a popping good time!

Once again the Sponge showed us just how absorbent he can be as he soaked up all the chips and took home the most points towards year end and let us not forget, he also slurped up the coveted South Bay Poker Tour trophy for another month long stay at Casino De’ Paris.

As guests arrived at “Little Hill”, they found a cozy but functional poker room that was set and ready to go.  And after the seat assignments and a belly full of Papa John’s, it was time to get the action started.  And action there was! 

When the first hour was past and there were no more re-buys, the action got heavy and players quickly found their chips stacks running on fumes.  Scooter was the first to get popped from tournament play when her “Bullets” didn’t hold up.  The big man, El Guapo, followed her close behind.  One by one players found the money table in the loser’s lounge!

All the while, the blinds are skyrocketing!  Each player to bust out would send them to the next level and make each of the remaining players stack less significant.  It seemed as if we were down to a final table in no time, and then things changed.  The game tightened up and the real battle ensued. 

Seven Players advanced to the final table.  Those who advanced were Sponge, Brawny, Big Slick, Sandy, Shanester, ”Awe in” and “Sixth Man”.  “Sixth Man” was the first to go followed by “Awe in”.  Shaneiola was next which left the four chip winners still playing.  Sandy bit the dust leaving just three and Spongie’s pocket tens took care of Big Slick earning him his first headhunter award.

So here we were, heads up play between super absorbent Brawny and a Sponge.  A better match up could not be found!  But low and behold, even super absorbent Brawny can’t out soak a sponge!

So Congrats again to the Mighty Sponge!  And Thanks to everyone who attended for making the “April Extravaganza” the success it was.  Management At “Little Hill Casino” say they are looking forward to hosting again soon.
