Big Slick out battles
M.C. Ronnie in 8-Mile II, The Day After…
In
what turned out to be war of attrition, Big Slick won the December to Remember
Tourney. With numerous side-plots to be played out, this month’s tourney was
more of a siege than a free for all. Would Spongebob come out firing?? Or would
he instead play it close to the hip to protect his point’s lead? Who would
finish behind him in what was a logjam of players? Would MC Ronnie give in and
have a drink? All these questions were answered as the cards were dealt, and
everyone settled in for a long, fun night of poker. At table one, MC Ronnie
must’ve
felt like a Lottery winner with the hands he was getting and showing, Flushes
and Trips and Straights, OH MY!!!! His early success gave him a big chip lead
and he took advantage by steamrolling the table with raises and all-ins,
rendering everyone helpless as he unleashed his Poker-Fu on us. Table two was a
different story, Slick and Butterfingers had to wade through the estrogen-laced
conversation and endless shuffling only to trade chips and gain no real
advantage.
Table one was a classic display of
power-poker, with MC picking off players one at a time, until we battled among
ourselves and sent our best two over to table two for the showdown. Ronnie came
out swinging with his raises and all-ins, and table two reeled at first from the
weight of his blows. After a double up gave him new life, Slick began to amass
his horde and trade blows with MC. As Ronnie’s stack started looking more red,
and less black and blue, he backed off and let the free for all play itself out.
No one seemed to gain much advantage, and the players slowly dwindled down until
it was heads-up. After laying low and waiting for MC to over commit, Slick
caught him with his guard down, and his dominant hand held up as he survived the
draw to claim the victory.
We all got our first
taste of MC’s “”Sober-Master” Poker-Fu style, so it’ll be fun to see how next
year goes. WELL, at least for the first three months!! See you all at the
Little Hill!!!!
