MEATSQUATCH SIGHTED.  MR. DECEMBER’S REIGN OF TERROR ENDS!!

Death, Taxes, and Slick the December champion. These are the constants in life. Until the Meat factory churned out a beast so horrific you can only look at it with one eye…The Meatsquatch!!!  The mere presence of this abomination caused one player to expel all his air through the tiniest of holes, although we may need to reassess that opening in the future.  The Annual December coronation of Mr. December was a small event.  We had a lot at stake for year-end positioning, so a better turnout was hoped for.  The small group of players battled fiercely in the first hour, with stacks changing by the hand it seemed. Cha-Cha couldn’t catch a break, but he did catch the tour’s most expensive chip when Slick informed him he re-bought enough to take that baby home!

The break brought hot Papa Johns and other tasty sides, as the players digested the first hour’s action.  When we got back to business, El Guapo claimed the first kill squeezing out the now airless Sponge for all his chips. That left him seated next to Meatsquatch, and before long, they had their chips in the middle, and Meatsquatch’s A-Q out kicked El G’s A-6 to end his hopes for a 3rd place year end finish. Gamera was next to fall to Meatsquatch’s evil power, setting the table for Mac tonight to overtake him for 3rd years end.  The Marshal was extinguished next, and Cha-Cha danced away soon after. Sandy’s run was cut short with a 4th place finish, and then the unthinkable happened.  Mr. December ran out of chips and cards with a normally acceptable 3rd place finish, but his totalitarian reign of communist, sadistic rule was finally put to rest by Mac Tonight. It took a former boss to finally do it, but Slicks Christmas décor was missing one important ornament this year.

That left Mac alone to face the mythical Meatsquatch; half-meatman, half-squatch.  It only took a few hands and a big shuffle to get these two tangled up all-in, and Meatsquatch was not to be denied his place in history. He will forever, or at least until next December, be the only name besides Slicks to grace the 12th month champions slot.  Congrats to Sandy for holding her own, finishing 4th and fending off all the Swords. Also congrats go to Mac for coming back from 5th in rankings to take down the 3rd place trophy. Marshal came tantalizingly close to his first tour championship, but I’m sure he will gladly accept the well-earned 2nd place trophy for this years efforts.

December may not have been Slicks month this time, but the Tour Championship remains at the Outskirts! Congrats on a strong finish and another year end title. Thanks to all that played this year, and hopefully we get stronger in the following year. Merry HannuQwanzMas to all!!!
