Marshal Extinguishes Charlies Fire Dragon Hopes!

    In the 2011 finale, that almost was a true finale, Marshal came up big in the "fireman's final" and captured the December crown. We all made the looooong trek up Ei's never ending stairway to play at the Fire Dragon, for what could have been the last time, (stay tuned). We had a small but spirited showing, and after much talk, it was decided that we would try to continue the SBPT in a reboot of sorts.

    The poker in the first hour was pretty tame, although I did get felted on a quasi questionable call by Slick to chase down his flush. The break brought a return of Rascals meat and chicken, along with some tasty salad to fill us all up. Then we all took turns trying to turn Ei's oven off, to no avail. When we got down to the real... deal, things moved along rather briskly as players fell, and we ended up heads-up with Marshal and Foxtrot-Tango. It was a short by most standards final, and Marshal took down the crown and the honor of hosting the SBPT 2.0 beginning this month!

    We all decided it is worth trying to keep alive with Slick bowing out of the Master of Ceremonies and Travelling Poker Show role. Now he's a true JAP (just a player), and with others stepping up to take over the duties he performed, we will give it a go in 2012. It will take a little more effort from all involved to truly make this what it was or better, but if we want to keep playing, I think it can be.
