A 2-headed Snake Strikes Gold At THE Lily Pad!!

February’s battle for the trophy came down to a menu choice: meat or snake.  Our game started with a new S.B.P.T. first, a re-buy after the first hand. Table 2 had all the big names, and they didn’t disappoint by having an all-in and a call on the games first hand.

The Dry Cleaner doubled up after chopping the Snake’s head off with a King high nut straight, to beat the Snake’s lower straight.  After reloading, the game held up a furious pace, as both tables jockeyed for position.  Meaty was forced to reload early, after getting eaten alive at table 1.  He staggered into the break with barely a chip and a chair to his name. Table 2 kept the pressure on also.  After El Guapo flopped a straight and called the Sponge’s all-in top 2 pair flop, the Sponge was almost squeezed dry, but still had a few chips left to battle with.

The break welcomed a traditional Asian feast of 4-foot burrito with rice and salad, which was enjoyed by everyone.  After the break, and multiple players topping off their stacks, we got back to business.  The Turtle, in a rare burst of motion, ended the Sponge’s night for the second month in a row (do I smell a rivalry??) The new players had mixed reviews, as John (name pending) was sent down the stairs soon after.  Edwin revealed himself as the Splinter Cell, after he took out an unconfirmed record 5 players on his way to a 3rd place finish.

After the pace slowed, and players were dispatched to the rail, (finally another losers lounge cash game!!) We were left with a final four of: El Guapo, Meaty, Snake, and Splinter Cell. El Guapo looked poised for a run at the title, but couldn’t take out the Splinter Cell’s pocket 4’s with his suited Big Slick (a 60% chance of either one appearing by the river, by the way).

The Snake laid in wait and struck quickly, taking out the Splinter Cell, leaving him heads up with Meaty for the Trophy, and all the Lily Pad’s loot.  It didn’t take long before they found themselves tangled up all-in, and the Snake’s stack proved to be too much for Meaty to overcome.  Props to Snake for his 8th Wonder of the S.B.P.T. World win.  There’s a short turn around, so we hope to see you all at the Little Hill on the 10th
