CHA-CHA CHARLIE W-W-WINS!!!
First off, just like the commercial says…”Sorry Charlie”, trying to get the house ready to move into has derailed me a bit.
Yes, it is VERY difficult to utter that phrase without stuttering!! That boom
you heard 2weeks ago was not the shuttle’s sonic boom, it was the sweet sound of
Cha-Cha popping his SBPT cherry, and dancing away with his first victory! In
yet another of the now common 1-table tourneys, Cha-Cha defeated an enormous
field of the magnificent 7 to seize an impressive come from behind victory.
The day started out with a casino change, as we gathered at the Outskirts Annex Casino to have the Feb tourney. Once everyone finally arrived, (we had to wait for our favorite vowel to get there), we got to it with some good battling going on. The break brought Papa Johns pizza and wings, with salad and other munchies.
Once we got down to business, it seemed that everyone but myself had the chip
lead at some point. Maybe it was the chill in the air, but Marshal was the only
player able to get chips and hold on to them until….
Once
again, I was first out when I called Marshal with my Pocket 9’s, only to see him
pocket my chips. The Burmese triangle went out next, with the vowel bowing out
first, the saw getting her plug pulled soon after. Slick seemed poised to
strike again, but was swept off his seat and lost his head to Cha-Cha. The moon
was full, but the cards weren’t for Mac Tonight as he fell, and left us heads up
with Marshal and his roughly 3-1chip lead over Cha-Cha. Dancing deftly around
the poker table, Charlie was able to stick and move avoiding any big hits to his
stack, while slowly “chipping” away at Marshal’s stack.
Once it got near
the 50-50 mark, it seemed to be only a few hands later before they both stood
hand to hand in the middle and Marshal watched in horror as Charlie threw down
the second best hand in poker, A-A and breathed a sigh of relief as Marshal
revealed he held THE best hand in poker J-10. Charlie managed to suck out with
his aces, and hold on for the victory!!! (yes, I’m kidding there). The look on
Cha-Cha’s face was priceless, it clearly resembled semi-retarded strong Eli
Manning’s after they too “shocked the world with victory”. Congratulations to
Charlie on a well played evening, and since it appears I will most likely write
next months page given my play lately, I will make sure to wait a little to
write that one also to allow you more face time. Oh, and now that you popped
your cherry, could you please come clean up the blood on my floor before it DOES
look like a meat locker!!!!
