MARCO CALLS HIS WAY TO THE TOP IN SEASON 2 DEBUT!

Two little words…” I call “, proved to be the deciding factor in the S.B.P.T . season opener.

Armed with new players and new strategies, the 2nd season started off with a bang thanks to the poppers supplied to victors at the Little Hill Casino. After the Trophy presentation to wrap up season 1, we started off with a high spirited game where big bets came early and often, setting the tone for what should be a hard fought season 2. At table one, MC Ronnie used his poker-fu to no avail, as newcomer Marco, unaware of just what poker-fu actually is, called his all-in and forced Slick to halt the action on table two long enough to get the MC a shiny new set of chips. The early double up by Marco allowed him to pressure the table and stay in more hands leading to a power poker session that kept his stacks rising like nipples in a freezer.

Marco continued to press, grabbing most of Chucks chips also, leading to yet another big re-buy. In the read of the year Chili-dog, holding a set of 4’s, folded to be shown a set of 5’s that would’ve crippled her stack (GREAT read Chilster).  In later action, we just missed having our first Royal Flush. Sub-Zero couldn’t get a post flop call, and with a little rabbit hunting, would’ve had it on the turn.

On the Lifetime Channel, I mean table 2, Slick built a solid stack and waited as others picked themselves off and traded chips. After both tables took a few casualties, Poker-fu among the first, we squeezed down to the final table. El Guapo bid an early adios, as his pocket 7’s were no match for Scooters jacks (who wins with jacks??!!).  The women looked to be poised to strike as Chili and Fishy both doubled up to stay in contention and Sandy held a decent stack waiting for a chance to make her move. At this point the buy-in game started, and yada, yada, yada, we were down to three. Marco called Scooter down, and after a very game effort by her, we were left heads-up with the two big stacks.

The posturing went on with both players trading blinds and making few big moves, when Slick doubled up Marco, leaving him with pretty much a chip and a chair.  When slick went all-in again, Marco uttered those two words one last time, and we crowned a new Champion.

Here’s to what should be a VERY competitive season.  Grab a forty and put your vests on, we’re going to COMPTON!!!!!!
