The
2010 opener began with old business, as the year-end trophies were presented to
last year’s top finishers.
I’m assuming everyone gathered early and promptly and the players waited
patiently for the “official” start time to arrive. I had to miss the “fake hour”
and most of the break, so I am left to imagine things went swimmingly!
The “real” game began, and
things were pretty calm for the most part.
After Sponge
mentioned that nobody had been eliminated after a few hours of play, then of
course we had a lot of action and eliminations. El Guapo was racing Mac Tonight
for first out honors, and after Jeremy hit a king on the river to get two pair
and the win, El G won!! After some hand served pie was delivered (literally),
the others played until everyone was knocked out but Sponge, Meatsquatch and
Snake. Hand of note being the Saw catching quad Jacks.

After Sponge went out on a heartbreaker, (which frankly I can’t recall), we were heads up. Snake captured the early year-end lead, and a rare January victory when Meatsquatch went all in for the 7-2 buck and lost both his head, and the tourney in the process. Congrats to Snake for yet another victory (insert golf clap here), and I hope everyone attends the February Heartbreak tourney so I can make up those points!!!
