The SBPT (under new management) kicked off the Re-boot 2012 opener to much anticipation and a little anxiety, as we set off on our own without the crutch that was there for so long. While Slick could not attend, he was excited to see how things would go, and I gladly informed him that with Ei's arrival at 5:59, we had all players present BEFORE the starting time! The fake hour was pretty spirited as we had plenty of play and chips were beginning to move around a bit. Tony got felted, and opted to wait until the break to reingage in the fray. If memory serves right, Rob was the early leader going into break, and rode those chips to the showdown in a good start for him.

The break brought some damn good salsa, and a very tasty burrito from the Riviera, and we all got just enough before it was felted also. It also brought a new player, Pat. He seemed to have a good time, so welcome, and hope to see you at many tournements to come! There were plenty of snacks and drink available, so well done to those that brought something , and to Mrs. Marshall for getting the food ready to go. There were just enough re-buys that first place turned out to be a nice prize for the winner.

The start of the real tourney saw Tony continue to bleed chips and it looked like he was headed for an early exit UNTIL.... I hadn't been getting too many cards that held up to that point, and then woke up to find pocket K's and quickly took a nice pot for my first win. To hands later, I again peered down at K's and figured this could be the start of a nice run for me. I raised, got two calls, and then the flop came 3 under cards, rainbow. I bet out again, and Turtle thought a bit before calling. The turn was a random card, so I again fired a bet out. Turtle thought a bit longer, got a chip count from me and pushed enough for me to be all-in. Thinking he was chasing and/or going big stack bully on me I called, and he turned over 2 pair to end my night early when the river missed me. Two hands after that, Diego got Robb'ed also, I had early company and only had to deal 3 hands. Tony feeling like he won $10 on a scratcher, finally went out 2 points higher than he figured he would, and took over dealing duties with a smile.

Charlie tried his best to go into cockroach mode and doubled up through Marshal, but didn't have enough to claim his head. He isolated a few hands later to go for the kill shot, but couldn't hit the mark, and gave Marshal some bullets back to play with. He FINALLY got a third shot and was able to get the kill, and then went out himself, as Ei was making her push for the title. It was mostly a 2 player race, as Ei and Rob had the big stacks almost throughout the whole thing. After finally getting heads-up, they managed to play for about 2hrs before a winner was decided. the chips moved a lot and the lead changed a couple times, But Ei channeled her inner dragon, and got the win, so that we all will get our cardio in climbing the Heights of the Fire Dragon Casino next month!!! Hope to see you all there.

Congrats to Ei for the win, and to Marshal for getting the Re-boot off to great start!
