Slick Wins The Shell Game!

The Hot Box lived up to its name, as 10 players sweat it out to decide this month’s title.  Before I go any further, I would like to thank Sandy Cheeks, on behalf of the other players, for enduring the elements, including a steaming Sponge, for dealing her butt off and staying on throughout. Sorry we didn’t give you any help until the end, but your effort and fortitude are VERY appreciated!!

We all commented at the beginning how nice it was in the Hot Box, But we didn’t realize we were actually in the worlds largest crock-pot! It took awhile, but it lived up to its vaunted reputation as the hottest casino on earth…

The heat at the table turned up on the first hand, as Sponge and Sandy got tangled up in a large pot, which Sponge nearly rode all the way to the title.  His aggressive play and determined style had him in control for most of the evening, until he was wrung out in 3rd place.  The remainder of the first hour had a few rebuys and lots of action for anybody that wanted it.  We were treated to Papa Johns finest, along with a nice salad and a few other goodies.

The real tourney began, and our amazing’ azian E, continued her slide from the top spot to go out first.  She did honor her demise by serving the pie, so way to go E! Keepin the dream alive…  I wonder what pie we’ll have next month??   Marshal had a rare fizzle and was out next, followed by a still dry, but soon to be Sweaty Cheeks.  The Saw was next, followed by me and my ill-timed bluff, which leaves me writing this wretched front page!

Jeremy was next, and then the dawn came early for Mac Tonight.  The Sponge still had control of things, but before you knew it he was felted, and out the front door before anyone could even comment on what happened.  That left us heads up with Gamera and his perfect heads-up record on the line, against Slick and his dominant stack.   The heat must’ve taken the fight from our Champ, and he succumbed to the overall leader in tour wins.  That’s pretty much it for me, signing off now…
