TRANSFORMERS 2: Revenge Of The Fallen Tortuga.  Gamera Invades Torrance: 7th win Confirmed!!

IS he a turtle, or is he a beast hell bent on shattering fastest to records??? This question seems to have an answer as Turtle fought off the odds, both in poker and in Poker Talk (sign up and be a part of the online sensation), by capturing the inaugural event at the Fire Dragon Casino and also claiming his seventh title.

We almost started on time!!! That was the revelation as we sat down to play and see who could, or would be able to knock “E” off her throne.  Marshal was the first to stand up the dragon, and was nearly felted for his efforts.  The first hour saw some decent action, as everyone settled into their game. We were greeted at break by three feet of all-meat burrito, and some sides.

The real tourney began and we quickly dropped a couple players, Most notably Fartman, who will need to make arrangements for the delivery of the pie unless we follow up on our tourney talk, and bag the short lived and rarely honored bringing & S-E-R-V-I-N-G of said pastry.  The next to fall was our host, finally showing a chink (no pun intended), although being Burmese, that could very well have been the cause of her demise!  Noob Jeremy made an early exit.  And in a mild shocker, Popeye left his spinach and game at home, unable to muster the cards or guile to last any longer than 9th place.

The Saw bit the dust next, to complete the two-pointed Burmese triangle (it makes sense to them, just like calling with two random cards does). Our other noob San Diego, which in German means “whales vagina”, although scholars claim to have lost those translations years ago, bid farewell and stayed classy.  Cha-Cha boogied over to the cash game next, and was followed by the bubble boy himself, El G.

I would have avoided that fate, if not for the Tortugas transformation from all-in shortstack, to doubled up and dangerous.  The sun set next for Mac Tonight, and Slicks chips dried up before making it heads-up.  That left the brothers-in-law Grimm, Marshal and Gamera to duel it out. Gameras transformation was complete, and his stack was too much for Marshal to extinguish.

Lucky #7 was truly that, as our Turtlebot was down for the count twice, and managed to survive and claim victory. Congrats to the champion, and we hope to see the noob’s at next month’s tourney!!!
