18 and Life to Go!!!
It’s been few years since I’ve written the front page but I now find myself
writing to you because my big mouth made a deal…and I sucked a bit of wind at
this last tournament so now you have me.
The Sponge Bob 1070 started with the introduction of our newest member Marie. If you have any nickname suggestions let us know.
The +++++hour brought us 1 player looking for a three peat and 11 looking for the headhunter award followed up with 25 re-buys.
Dinner brought the famished players a heaping helping of fresh Carne Asada with
all the fix’ins, thanks Sandy for all your effort in making this happen.
After break Cha Cha’s smack talking to Sponge got him what he wanted, the loose aggressive side, unfortunately it also secured him a spot as designated pie server. Lucky for him there was NO pie, don’t know why. Hey Cha Cha…don’t forget the pie in July big guy.
Our new player dinged the Sponge early on with her pocket queens and carried those chips to her demise at the hand of the intimidating Slick in 10th place. So much for the new player brings all the luck.
While the action
was happening fast and furious on table 1, El Guapo and Sandy were squirreling
around and securing chips on table 2 to take them to the final table. Table 2
was full of pansies so I don’t know much more about them.
Slick dealt the final blow to the defending champion with a straight on the river sending the players to the final table.
Slick went on to get a total of 5 kills on his way to heads up.
Players took a short break to enjoy some cake to celebrate Slick and Sandy’s 33rd
and 32nd birthday’s respectively. Nice dessert since we didn’t
have pie, still don’t know why!
Heads up saw a familiar site and a long awaited rematch of Slick and Sandy. It
had been 2 years and 3 days that these two went heads up in the
Birthday Bash. Sandy was up 1-0 and
Slick was looking for redemption, Sandy on the other hand could care less about
the rematch and more about keeping the trophy at the Casino de Paris.
Starting at 30/60
both players were waiting for the other to make a mistake they could capitalize
on. Well that is exactly what Slick did when Sandy rightfully feeling good with
a full house and 3 jacks on the board she went all in thinking Slick was a Jack
Off. Unfortunately for her that wasn’t the case as Slick turned over the 4th
J ending her run. Final score 1-1. Can’t wait till next rematch.
