Big Slicks Bag Of Tricks Takes The Pot

Big slick showed up to the March tournament with a whole new bag of tricks and a renewed enthusiasm for the SBPT and its players.

With 13 players at this months event the smell of the hunt for Sponge's head was in the air.  The play started very conservative but after a couple of hours of play and a few blind increases things heated up quickly and play was fast. 

J. Ro was the first to to take a hike to the rail, followed shortly by Laura.  Thanks to the two of them for dealing for the duration of the tournament.

Shane easily survived an all in call when his trip Kings river'd a foursome. This marks the best hand yet for the SBPT history.

Emma once again knocked out the 2 time returning champion for the Head Hunter award.  She did it few months ago when she took out MC Ronnie and cleared the way for Big Slicks first win.  Is it any coincidence that after she takes out the trophy holder that Slick slides in for the glory?  I guess he needs others to do his dirty work. J

The final table came down to 5 players when Sandy and Paul made their exit at the same time.  On the final table there was Alan on the button followed by Emma on small blind Sponge on big blind and Slick, and Shane to follow.  Sponge was was short stacked and out on the first hand.  Emma was taken out next by Alan who also was putting the hurt on Shane.  Sitting on the big stack Alan's misfortunes saw him double up slick twice before Slick finally pulled the plug on his play.  Shane (with no chips) was no match up against Slicks now dominating stack and it only took a few hands to deliver the final blow.

Although I (Sponge) got the short end of the stick at the final table drawing big blind after a double increase in the blinds while on short stack, I was pleased with how the new structure worked out.  I only hope the next time I have better luck drawing cards (Maybe there's a book on "How To Draw Cards")?

Congrats to Slick on his second big win!  Does Slick have "the nuts" to pull off a repeat win like the other two trophy champs?  We shall see.....
