“E’s” “E”xtra Special night at the Out Skirts!
It
was looking to be the biggest tournament of the year with 15 players on tap to
attend and the “E”xcitement was running high, but sadly we were down to
13 players when the two newest to the tour found more important things to do.
Nonetheless, we
were off to a great start. Some players had fought off life threatening
illnesses to attend, and that was also the topic that dominated the “E”arly
conversation.
First hour action is always very intense and this first hour was also intense.
Sponge was doing his best to imitate the Meatsicle and others were not backing
down when the all-ins were called… which is why Sponge was doing his best
impression. As the first hour disappeared, the real meat appeared… fried chicken
and all the fixin’s made their way to the tables as players piled their plates
high! Turtle did his best to act like a real turtle and devour all the salad.
The only difference was that he used a fork! Once the bellies were full, the
hands were washed, and the timer was ticking down on break time, we took our
seats and began our journey towards SBPT history!
The
host (Slick) continued to falter at his place of residence and failed for the 13th
time to go back to back, in fact he wasn’t long for this tournament and was soon
dealing the cards for “E”veryone “E”lse on table 1.
Soon other players began to hit the rail. Mac Tonight “E”nded his streak
of good finishes and was out 2nd. Low and behold… look who joined us
after about a year and a half… Fartman and Brawny who were out 3rd
and 4th. Meanwhile some big stacks and impressive hands were
appearing. Scooter Doubled up when she rolls over quad 10’s, and “E”l
Guapo and “E” were starting to pull away from the pack and “E”stablish
a foothold at the Out Skirts.
The
pack soon thinned out and we were now down to five with two big stacks (“E”
and “E”l Guapo), one middle stack (Sponge) and to super short stacks
(Scooter and Cha Cha), and this is where it gets good. “E” is just
crushing “E”veryone at this point and it’s taking a toll on the players
that are still alive in this tournament.
She seems
unbeatable at this point and no one wants to go out on the bubble but Scooter
pushes all-in with her minimal stack so Sponge and “E” call her down to
try to get her out and put themselves in the chip. The flop comes 10-10-J and
with a heroic attempt at taking down a relatively small pot… he pushes his $900K
all-in, then as if he just bet his life savings on a horse named Lucky that
stumbled out of the gate,
broke his leg,
and had to be shot right there on the track to spare it misery, his jaw dropped,
his face went blank, and his eyes darted around looking for reassurance as if to
say… you agree with me right?... she must be cheating when she rolled over
Ace-Jack, and Sponges King-Jack was in serious trouble. Not funny to Sponge, but
funny nonetheless was that Scooters queen hit on the turn and another on the
river to triple her up and send Sponge out on the bubble giving Sponge a 5th
place finish for the tournament.
Cha Cha was out
shortly after and now it was just three. “E”l Guapo’s stack had been
dwindling and “E’s” just continued to grow while Scooter was just hanging
on. No one can deny that “E” can play a big stack well, something that
the Saw was good at but now has taken the conservative road and become much more
predictable. "E"l Guapo put up a good fight but ultimately, his money went in only to
find that he was dominated and that left an all girl final!
Scooter did her best to hang on but when the stack difference is about 40 to 1, there is not much to do. I will say this about Scoots, She pushed her money in good in every hand heads up, but at this point “E” was just toying with her. Ultimately “E” caught her card and was crowned Tournament Champion! There have been players in the past that have dominated and this performance ranks right up there at the top! Congratulations, we are looking forward to playing at the Fire Dragon Casino!
