DÉJÀ VU, SP-OBAMANGE WINS BATTLESHIP POKER!
Just like our new Commander in Chief, Sponge is delivering change you can
believe in! After last months unexpected, but impressive win, the Unibobber
followed up with another back-to-back victory.

In what can only be described as a card version of Battleship, It made sense that the Sponge and harbor Marshal were the players best equipped to navigate the waters, and dodge all the debris from the vast amount of sunken Boats we had at the Casino De Paris. The only thing missing from this strangest of tourneys were shouts of “a-19”, and replies of “miss”. It seemed that every time a shot was fired from a boat, it hit. The only problem was that the return fire often sunk the first players ship.
I knew I was in trouble when in the fake hour, I went all in against the vowel
with an aces full of sevens full house, only to see her turn the same hand over
and chop the pot. I was later felted by Slick, and knew I wasn’t long for this
tourney. There was lots of action, as both tables showed good aggression, and
chips were moving quite frequently from stack to stack.

We ended the fake hour with a tasty meal of assorted pastas, wings and salad.
After everyone loaded up, we started the real game. Turtle was given the honor
of selecting next month’s pie by going out first, (fyi: $6.99 any pie at Marie
Callenders thru June). I followed shortly after, as Slick felted me again
taking my last 65K. Jeremy (now Clark Kent I believe) Sandy, and MacTonight and
Meaty were next to hit the rail. Sponges elimination of Sandy was notable in
that he again chose to start racing for chips, with a dubious call of Sandy’s
all in. If the food tastes tart next month, it might be bitter from all the
fallout! Sleep on your stomach Spongie, or you may be renamed UniBobbitt!!!
That took us to the final four, And what a final it was for the four. The action started with Slick betting out, the Saw just called, and that left Marshal priced in for the call as well. Marshal hit 2pair on the flop, and before you knew it, all 3 were all in. Marshal won the hand and got the rare double kill, with Slick getting the 3rd place chip for having a larger stack than the Saw. That left a surprised Sponge going heads up with the harbor Marshal. It only took a few hands before both were all in, and the Marshal showed his Q’s Mary to Sponges A-sumpin’. True to form for the speediest of mollusks, Sponge won the race with an ace, and went back to back as champion for the third time. Who knows what next month will bring, but just in case, bring a life jacket…
