Where In The World?????
I took this picture recently. It so happens to bear the name of Slick's favorite hide out. Can any tell me where this picture was taken? The winner will receive absolutely nothing. Post your answers on poker talk.

Fishy Fights Her Way Upstream For The S.B.P.T. Victory!
With the holiday season upon us, player attendance was slim, but card play was enormous! With only nine players total, we seated everyone at one table so right from the start everyone knew the players they would have to face throughout their trophy journey.
Chili Dogs Palace was a great place to play, complete with great food, a keg of Coors Light (the official beer of the South Bay Poker Tour), and the trophy princess proudly perched on the kitchen table surrounded by candlelight.
On to the action! The first hour was fairly uneventful with everyone taking the conservative route, even though some big hands were uncovered. An example of which was Shane’s four nines that bested the boat of Fishy.
After the first hour break and the delicious tamale dinner, play resumed with a bit more aggression. Sandy was definitely using her chip lead to force decisions from players with a shorter stack. Big Slick folded a hand in which he had put a nice chunk of chips in the pot when Sandy went over the top on Slicks re-raise. But when she went All-In again against Slicks pocket aces, she paid the price and was short stacked herself.
Along the way, M.C. Ronnie showed his four tens, although he was not forced to do so. Also, we had a very strange occurrence appear at this S.B.P.T. tourney… the first four cards on the board (flop & turn) were all deuces! I’ll bet that doesn’t happen very often! At one point, it looked good for Slick until he ran into M.C.’s 5/6 off suit which tripped up on the flop and doubled up the two-time trophy winner, crippling Slick for the rest of his short lived tourney.
It was looking better and better for the female persuasion as Scooter was looking pretty strong for a while and even though Sandy had gotten short stacked, she started her comeback by doubling up through Slick who had short stacked her initially. After Slick, Sponge, and Shanorama found there way to the rail, it left M.C. to battle for us guys. He was able to hang in there until Scooter and Chili hit the skids but he too would give away all his chips before becoming this month’s winner.
That leaves just three! Quietly lurking in shallow water was Fishy who hadn’t had any dominate stack all night, but was far from out, and Brawny who was accumulating quite a stack of chips and Sandy, who’s comeback from chip poverty will be remembered.
Unfortunately for
Sandy Cheeks, her night would also come to an end when Brawny’s pocket tens took
almost everything she had leaving her with virtually a chip and a chair… neither
of which she had moments later when she gave those away also.
Here we are… heads up! With Brawny about a two to one chip lead, Fishy would definitely be swimming upstream. And with the blinds so big, it looked bad for Fishy as she kept folding to Brawny and giving much-needed blinds and shortening what stack she had. But with an unbelievable river card to give Fishy a straight and double up, her chances were looking much better as the she was now the new chip leader. But Brawny wouldn’t give up that easily as her pocket nines held up against an Ace high hand to make them about even in the chip count. Then Brawny was devastated when her ace high didn’t hold up against two suited cards that matched one on the turn putting her big time short-stacked. The next hand decided the winner as Fishy called Brawny’s All-In of Queen/Jack suited with Big Slick, and a new trophy winner was crowned!
Congratulations to the females for their great performance and especially to Fishy for her steady play and fish like nerves. Could it have been Guppy Luck?
See you next month!
