Home Alone with the trophy… Sponge, the “WET BANDIT” strikes again!!!

After a year in hiding, the “Wet Bandit” reappeared to steal the trophy and turn Scooters treat into a trick at the Halloween Havoc in Casino De Paris. In what was thought to be another small tourney, a few faces appeared like ghosts to haunt the gathering at Sponge and Sandy’s abode.

With 12 players on hand, the game was off and running with important player points at stake. The action started fast on table 1, as lots of chips changed hands, and early re-buys dominated the first hour of play. Scoots jumped off to another fast start as she amassed an early horde that would take her to the final hand of play. Big Slick Suited looked primed for a final pairing run also, as he too gathered an early pile of chips to battle with. But, his tower crumbled short of the final table, and all but stuck a fork used to enjoy Sponges delicious B-Day cake in his end of year title hopes.

Sandy battled hard, and lasted to capture 3rd as she proved she is still very formidable when she can make it to game day. The Assassin seems to have her rifle pointed backwards, because she keeps sniping herself in the early going, and she made another quick, quiet exit as Scoots flushed up to beat her straight. Charlie too made an early exit. Mike’s weekend pass ran out, and he was sent back to lockup, but got a couple points for his effort.

Table 2 was much more conservative, and there was mostly jockeying in the first hour. Fishy swam long enough to gather a few points, but floated to the top and bowed out in the bottom half. Dark Chocolate’s surprise appearance wasn’t rewarded, and his chips slowly melted in the other players hands. Brawny was holding her own, until she had to switch tables, and was slowly torn to pieces and left to deal. (BIG THANKS for that though!)

Fartman played steady again, and appeared to be crippled going heads-up with pocket Q’s against El Guapamole’s 2 pair. BUT, the Madden Curse reared its ugly head, and the board paired 4’s to send Guapamole to the fridge to cool off in 5th.

Fartman’s new chips didn’t hold up, and Scoots ran him down over a couple of hands to leave him in 4th. After Witch-Sandy’s stack finally struck midnight, we had Scoot’s poker face and Sponge Bandit heads-up for the title. We all settled in for the marathon, but were quickly surprised when they tangled all-in early on, and the Wet Bandit flushed up twice in a row to wash away Scoot’s title aspirations.

Another great game, (unless you were me) and despite time constraints, pulled off well by the Casino staff! Sorry to those who couldn’t make it, but we’ll hopefully see everyone at the November Turkey Shoot!!
