Sponge Snake bitten at Oct, Haunt!
This month’s page
will be regretfully short. Due in part to the Early Times, and my Early Exit at
the “Haunting on the Hill”.
All gathered at one of the larger tourney’s we’ve had, and drink and cards began
flowing, except on table 2 where the cards came to a screeching halt upon
contact with the table!
The first hour went by with what is becoming the standard full re-buy at both
tables.
It’s
hard to believe we actually used 1k chips at one time… The break featured a
hearty (and needed) meal of Pappy Parker Fried Chicken, salads, and other
goodies. After all had their fill, including Boomerang (pause for clapping), we
commenced with the tourney.

This is where things get blurred, and I remember that Boomerang made an early
exit, only to be joined shortly by myself when I flopped 2 pair, went all in,
and got a quick call from Meaty,
who flopped
the nut straight. I now apologize to all at table 2 who had to watch my fumbling
efforts at dealing while feeling VERY little pain. It was rough going, but they
waded through and sent 4 to the final table.
At
this point the cash game started up, and I can only tell you that 6 players got
busted out,
leaving the Usual suspects Sponge & Snake to battle for supremacy. After a few
hands Snake went all-in with a Q-2 of clubs and was cheerfully called down by
Sponges pocket jacks, only to have his cheers turn to sorrow when Snake flushed
up on the turn giving him the monster stack at the table. After that It only
lasted a few hands, when Sponge went all in with J-10 and was called by Snake
with “K-something”? Snakes King held up and flooded the Sponge’s dreams of
victory to earn yet another title that I didn’t. Congrats to the Snake,
condolences to the Sponge, and see you all for an early Turkey Shoot in
November!!
