Slicks Picks!

Over the years there have been many ways that I have tried to forecast the results of our poker tournaments. Many times I was pretty close but ultimately it's impossible to be 100% correct and what fun would it be anyway to play the tournament if I knew for sure what the results were ahead of time?
This year I'm going with my gut. My gut will be influenced by stats and tournament results, but mostly it'll come down to what I feel. I'll also give a brief explanation of why I feel the way I do and why you're placement is as such.
The symbols you will see next to your name
will indicate whether your stock in the S.B.P.T. poker world is
rising, falling
,
or it's just holding steady
, based on your
recent tournament results contrasted with your S.B.P.T. career (since 2007 and
computer software) results!
February 2010
Big Slick: 1st place
Sooner or later this unbelievable run that Slicks on will end but until it does… I have to respect it. Over the last eight tournaments Slick has finished no worse than third place with four wins during that period. My hands are tied!
Marshal: 2nd place
Marshal has struggled over the last few months but is poised to turn it around this month. He has done well at the tournaments that El Guapo’s hosted. This isn’t exactly that but Marshal now gets a chance to make a mark at El G’s new (under construction) Casino.
El Guapo: 3rd place
Special thanks to the big man for offering his cave as an alternative to the OutSkirts which has a convention in town and conflicted with poker. Big ups!
Cha Cha: 4th place
Cha Cha usually comes in around the middle or just over and it wouldn’t surprise me if this month is no different.
Popeye: 5th place
Popeye is the wild card this month. He won the 2008 tour and came back in 2009 to fall flat on his face and also missed ¾ of the tournaments that year. We haven’t seen him since Sept 2009 so who knows?
The Saw: 6th place
As a last minute entry into the January tournament she did well especially after not playing for three months before. It’s hard to say because she could easily prove me wrong and win it but I think more towards the bottom this month.
Mac Tonight: 7th place
Over the last 4 tournaments, Mac has finished no better than 2nd out in three of them. December 2009 he nutted up and did just what he needed to do to secure a third place trophy for the 2009 tour but hasn’t been lighting it up otherwise.
“E”: 8th place
She finished in the middle last month but missed the three before that and then finished no better than second out in the four tournaments before that. I’ve seen her win and know she can but she needs to improve her consistency.
